Module 6: Interactive White Boards

IWBs

An interactive white board (IWB) is an instructional tool that is connected to a computer and typically mounted to a wall or stand. It allows images from the computer to be displayed onto it by a projector and then, using the cameras in each corner to detect movement, manipulated right on the board using a finger, or special pen or stylus made for use on the board. In a sense it becomes the interactive touch screen version of your computer.

Part A: Hands On Experience

In this week's module I learned how to use a SMART Board and the Notebook software to create an interactive lesson or an activity as part of a lesson. This technology is fairly common in classrooms around Alberta and can be a really great tool to incorporate technology and get students involved in your lessons. Part B: What can you do with an IWB?

I did some research on interactive white boards and put together a presentation using an online presentation platform called eMaze.  You can click HERE on on the picture below to see what I put together!
